Federal Issues Aside, Local Posturing Still Ahead

We can’t let Saturday’s headline sit atop this blog any longer in light of recent developments in Washington, so we’re updating the site and hope the fear to which it alluded has indeed been wiped away.

There still are plenty of reasons to be wary of issues and how they’re covered in the media here in Honolulu. The Civil Beat and Star-Advertiser stories today don't shed much new light on the Honolulu rail project and therefore are likely to be forgotten by tomorrow, but some media content deserves longer attention. Charles Djou's commentary in this week’s edition of Pacific Business News is an example.

Mr. Djou’s piece manages to keep him in front of PBN’s readers all week, which is reason enough to mention it at least twice in this space -- especially since, as we pointed out in Saturday’s post, it's built on an exceptionally shaky foundation.

We hope you’ll take a moment to read Saturday’s post, and if you have an opinion one way or the other, leave a comment by clicking the link.
